Courses at Stanford OHS

I’ve realized that I haven’t really talked about the courses I have taken/am taking at OHS. Core courses are courses that everyone in a grade is required to take, and while some courses have Honors in their name, there’s usually not a regular non-Honors level course at OHS.

Last year’s courses (9th grade), in no particular order:

  • AP Computer Science A (got a 5 on the AP test)
  • Textual Analysis and Argumentation
  • Core: Methodology of Science – Biology
  • Honors Physics
  • Honors Precalculus with Trigonometry

This year’s courses (10th) grade:

  • Data Structures and Algorithms in Java
  • Modes of Writing and Argumentation
  • Core: History and Philosophy of Science
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP Physics C
  • Latin – Foundations

Additionally, I’ve also this year begun to take two classes at my local physical high school. This is because if I take two classes there, I can participate in clubs (specifically, the rocketry club, which I posted about a bit ago).

  • Honors Chemistry
  • German 2

I’ve also been thinking about taking Multivariable Calculus at a college, so that I can take Linear Algebra and Differential Equations next year, and then Real/Complex analysis the year after that (my final year at OHS).

My plans for next year:

  • Advanced Topics in Computer Science: Computer Systems
  • AP English Language and Composition
  • Core: Democracy, Freedom, Rule of Law
  • Linear Algebra / Differential Equations
  • Light and Heat / Modern Physics
  • Latin – Intermediate

And the year after that, the last year:

  • AP US History
  • Core: Critical Reading and Argumentation
  • Real Analysis / Complex Analysis
  • Introduction to Quantum Computer
  • Latin – Advanced
